whats going on in my "studio"

I wanted to share what Ive been doing with my art recently.
Im not sure if you remember but I work for VSA arts.
Ive been blessed to be able to work with this organization for ten years
Most years when I teach I work with students in the Juvenile Justice system.
This year I was able to work in a joint effort between VSA and Special Olympics.
It was so much fun!!!

My daughter, who also works with VSA,
my teenage son and his girlfriend
came to help.

I was thrilled for My daughters boyfriend
and my husband-along with Lil G
to be able to join in on the day.

Lastly I have a little painting I did in my new Art Journal
I was so inspired on Palm Sunday
This image would not fade away in my mind.
So on Monday I got out my paints and this is what I ended up with
I might have to do a large painting of this.
I loved the greens,
the vibrant red
and I used gold paint
with shimmer in it.
So much meaning in all of it.....

I hope that you enjoy it.......

  8. Love your palms...beautiful...we have so much in common...I am an artist, we adopted our daughter, and I am Catholic...I am assuming you are...since the palms...:). But if not...we both celebrate it :). Your palms are lovely and so is your family!

    1. Ahhh, no I am not Catholic, But We Methodists do celebrate the Holy week- Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter.....I am doing my best to learn more about the meanings and all that I have been missing out when not understanding the if/thens. Ive also been enjoying learning about Passover and the connections between the Old Testament and New, The Temple in the Old testament and how we are now called the Temple. Very interesting.

  10. I remember when I was a kid in Brooklyn New York, and there were opportunities to get out of the "underprivileged, every day New York City bubble" – I still remember them to this day. What you and your family did – it may be remembered 40 years from now – and more. And I also remember as a Catholic kid in Brooklyn, fawning over all the palms on Palm Sunday – and your painting reminded me of that – so there are smiles on two accounts today. Thank you for both. God bless and keep you and each and every one of yours, Anna.
